The City of Melville sits upon the shore of the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia. It is home to 102, 393 people, living in 41,285 dwellings*, and consists of 18 suburbs, divided into six wards. The organisation employs more than 700 full-time, part-time and casual employees, and provides more than 200 products and services.

The City of Melville is committed to supporting our community to live well with dementia, as well as supporting measures to prevent its onset. As part of this commitment, the City aligns its Age-friendly Melville Plan with the Dementia-friendly Communities framework, as outlined by Alzheimer’s WA (AWA), and works in close collaboration with AWA and Dementia Australia to create a place where people living with dementia are supported and are able to participate in everyday life of the local community
